A FINAL call has gone out to Huddersfield women wanting to take part in this year’s Race for Life.
Places are still available for the women-only event on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28 which raises thousands each year for Cancer Research UK.
A total of 5,200 women have already registered for the 5km run at Leeds Road Playing Fields.
Now organisers are hoping to encourage a total of 6,000 Huddersfield women to put on their training shoes to help smash its £325,000 target this year.
Imogen Johnson, Huddersfield’s Race for Life event manager, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that so many women have already accepted our invitation to Race for Life in Huddersfield.
“Together, they will help us create a fantastic atmosphere on the day and raise crucial funds to help beat cancer.
“But we don’t want anyone to miss out.
“There are limited places left for the Huddersfield event so we are reminding women who want to take part at this venue that they must enter as soon as possible to ensure they don't miss out.”
Places are still available for runs on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.
The race is open to women of all ages and fitness abilities.
Participants can choose whether to run, jog or walk the course in a bid to help beat cancer.
Thousands of women across the country take part in the UK’s largest fundraising event each year.
