Animal branch in town

THE National Animal Sanctuaries Support League is opening a new branch in Huddersfield.
NASSL is a charity dedicated to domestic animals and members require individuals to help them set up in this area.
Founder and trustee Ray Mackinlay said: “We have looked at Huddersfield, Leeds and Dewsbury and we know that there is a need for us and it would be a great opening for someone.”
NASSL is based in Darlington, but are seeking to expand nationwide with a network of foster homes, placing rescued animals with responsible people.
Mr Mackinlay said: “We are very successful at what we do, but we just need more people to help out in different parts of the country. Longer-term, if we find the right person, we are hoping to open up a building in the Huddersfield area.”
As well as caring for rescued animals at their base, NASSL supports other individuals and sanctuaries involved with animals, as well as helping pet owners, such as pensioners and people on low income, with their vet bills.
It also needs people on disability and invalidity benefits for specialist positions.
Those interested in animal welfare should write to NASSL, PO box 42, Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham, DL5 5JA.
