Joiner victim of violent unprovoked assault in Moldgreen

THUGS armed with a ratchet and a cosh beat a joiner unconscious and left him bleeding in the street in a random attack.
Two men jumped out of a car in Moldgreen before setting upon 21-year-old Daniel Donaghey.
He was left lying on the pavement at Birkhouse Lane not far from his Moldgreen home.
The attackers did not take anything from their victim before driving off.
Mr Donaghey spent the next three days in hospital suffering from a broken elbow, a 2cm-deep puncture wound to his leg, gashes to the front and back of his head, two black eyes and numerous other cuts and bruises.
Now police are appealing for information.
Det Con Shaun Lewis, who is involved in the investigation, said: "This appears to have been a completely unprovoked attack on a young man on his way home after a night out.
"Thankfully, this type of assault is quite rare, but you do see it from time to time.
"He sustained quite serious injuries and the fact that he spent a couple of nights in hospital just goes to show how serious this matter was."
Mr Donaghey had been out in Huddersfield town centre before returning to a friend’s house in Moldgreen in the early hours of Saturday June 13.
