Lockwood couple rescue two kittens dumped in Marsden skip - picture

Cats

“We just don’t know how someone could just throw them away in a skip like that.

“There was no sign of the mother cat. It was obvious they’d been abandoned.”

Mrs Greenhalgh has been feeding them with milk from syringes every four hours.

Mrs Greenhalgh, who works at Hadfields bakery on Swan Lane at Lockwood, said: “I have had to pop home a few times but it’s two minutes round the corner so it’s not too bad.

“They are getting stronger now and doing very well.”

Mr and Mrs Greenhalgh have not named the kittens and have already found adoptive homes for them – to the disappointment of 12-year-old daughter Lauren who wants to keep them.

Mrs Greenhalgh said: “I am trying not to get attached. They are cute and I love them but you can’t keep every waif and stray.”
