WEDS PM: Colne Valley High School closed due to strike action on Thursday

COLNE Valley High School has informed parents that the schools will be closed on Thursday due to strike action.
In texts to parents at the 1500-pupil school, school bosses said an NUT strike was the reason for the closure.
The first text said: "We are forced to remain closed to students tomorrow due to industrial action by the National Union of Teachers.
The second text said: "We have been notified that the NUT will be taking strike action on Thursday June 25 and the school will be closed. A letter will be sent home."
In a statement, e-mailed to the Examiner, the NUT said: "This action results from the decision by the school management to impose a new staffing structure in the school which will result in a substantial salary loss for a number of staff.
"Despite the serious difficulties caused by the failure of the School and the Governing Body to properly consult over the proposals, the NUT has tried to resolve these issues through discussion, however the talks have failed to produce a suitable settlement.
