WEDS PM: Hundreds encircle Town Hall in school plan protest

HUNDREDS of protestors encircled Huddersfield Town Hall today as a final bid to save their schools.

The demonstrators -including dozens of children - were lobbying councillors arriving for a crucial meeting of Kirklees Council this afternoon.

The council is making final decisions on its controversial Building Schools For the Future project which could see Castle Hall School, Mirfield, closed down, along with others in North Kirklees.

The protest included parents and pupils from Castle Hall and from schools in the Birkenshaw area.
