AN angry dad wants answers after teachers went on strike.
The Huddersfield man is upset that Colne Valley High School was closed by industrial action on Thursday.
Members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) held a one-day strike to protest against plans to change the roles of five teachers.
The alterations would see them lose between £2,000 and £8,600 a year.
But the dad, who has a son aged 14 and a 12-year-old daughter at the school, is angry the teachers went on strike.
He said: “I had to take a day off work at short notice. This strike is ludicrous and I’d like answers from the NUT.
“I want to know why they thought it was necessary to disrupt the teaching. I’m sure the school have thought about these changes and they must be for the good of the kids.”
The pay dispute centres around five of the Linthwaite school’s 88 teachers whose posts have been altered.
