Huddersfield hairdresser Robert Calvin is cutting it in Marbella

HE ADMITS to being one of the most expensive hairdressers in the North of England.

Now Huddersfield hairdresser Robert Calvin is proving he can cut it in one of the richest playgrounds in the world.

The former Rastrick High School pupil is turning heads on the lavish Spanish coastline of Marbella.

The married dad-of-two has now opened his second salon in the prestigious holiday hotspot.

And with the Huddersfield Westgate shop he opened 25 years ago in safe hands, Robert is fast-becoming a celebrity favourite with a client-list Hollywood would be proud of.

He said: “It is the richest port and there are a lot of famous people here.

“Many big names have houses here and I sometimes get requests to go on to people’s boats to do their hair because they don’t want to be seen.

“I’m not naming names, but it is a magnet for actresses, popstars and footballers’ wives.

“I’ve no idea why we’re so popular. I can cut hair and people enjoy coming to us. We enjoy talking to the ladies and dealing with them to make them feel good. They do tell us their secrets.

“But the most important thing is that they have a good hair cut at the end of the day.”

Robert, 44, lives with his wife Tara and their two children in Marbella. They also run another salon in nearby Puerto Banus.

But he regularly returns to his Huddersfield roots to keep appointments with clients in the town, as well as travelling across the globe to cut hair in Milan, Paris and Miami.
