THREE hundred pupils were given awards for achievement at Royds Hall High School.
Pupils were awarded for their excellence in subjects as well as contribution to school life.
The new head boy and head girl were named as Ben Tibbott and Alicea Haigh.
Deputy headteacher Jeremy Haigh said: “We hold a celebration for the whole school every year and this year 300 students got awards.
“What’s nice is that around 200 parents came along to watch and support their children too.”
Pupils were also rewarded for overall academic improvement in every year group.
The school’s Learning to Lead group – formed to give pupils some leadership in school – hosted the awards ceremony.
They take part in school life activities from Royds Hall TV to eco projects.
MP Barry Sheerman and Greenhead College principal Martin Rostron both attended the event.
