Batley College of Art and Design stages annual fashion show of students’ work

STUDENTS from Batley School of Art and Design unveiled their creations at its annual fashion show.

The event on Wednesday at The Frontier, Bradford Road, Batley, featured the work of students on National Diploma, Foundation and degree course run by the school, which is part of Kirklees College.

More than 1,000 guests attended the event, which featured award-winning fashions and the sale of promotional merchandise, including T-shirts and brooches.

Sam Hudson, curriculum manager for fashion, said: “The show has been running for at least 25 years and we see it as a chance to celebrate the talents of our students and their work and showcase the school.”

This year’s show also featured the ‘Owt couture’ models – a group of budding models who were successful in recent open casting sessions in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.
