A YOUNG motorcyclist died on the way to his parents’ house.
Chris Camplin, 28, was killed when his black Kawasaki Ninja bike was in collision with a black Vauxhall Astra in Brighouse.
A crowd – including friends and family of the man – gathered as firefighters and paramedics tried to save his life following the accident at the junction of Halifax Road and Garden Road.
Mr Camplin, a keen motorcyclist, was on his way from his home in Hove Edge to see his parents in Rastrick when the accident happened around 7.45pm on Friday.
A passing fire crew stopped to help after witnessing the crash.
Brighouse Fire Station watch manager Alex McFarlane said: “We were out doing fire safety duties when we saw the accident, which sent the motorcyclist into a wall.
“He had serious head and chest injuries. We removed the bike from on top of him and took his helmet off before starting CPR.”
Paramedics arrived at the scene five minutes later. People gathered as the emergency workers gave Mr Camplin first aid.
