Man rescued after falling down banking in Cleckheaton

A MAN had to be rescued by firefighters after he fell nine metres down a banking.

The man, believed to be in his late 20s, was injured when he fell on Spen Lane in Cleckheaton.

Crew manager Aldene Woodward from Cleckheaton Fire Station was among those called to the scene at 10.55pm on Saturday. She said: “We were called to assist an ambulance crew to rescue the man. I think he had been there for some time.”

The man, who suffered slight injuries in the fall, was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital.
