SHE’S ONLY a week old – but already she’s Netherton’s biggest star.
Baby alpaca Lulu was born at Hinchliffe’s Farm Shop on Father’s Day.
Her mum Antarctica gave birth in a field next to the shop on Netherton Moor Road as restaurant customers watched in amazement.
The calf was three weeks late and weighed 18lbs.
Simon Hirst, who helps run the family business, said: “One of the shop assistants ran in to say the alpaca was giving birth and looked in distress.
“By the time we called her owner, it was all over and Lulu was born. It is better that way because it was more natural for her.
