Huddersfield Town stars go back to school

THEY are young stars of the footballing world.

But Alex Smithies and James Berrett haven’t forgotten the coaching they received from their old teacher Janet Oakley.

And the pair were delighted when she invited them back to their old Huddersfield school to open the annual summer fair.

Alex and James are both in Lee Clark’s Huddersfield Town squad, who will be bidding for promotion from Division 1 next season.

But back in 1999, the pair were just two of the stars of Mrs Oakley’s seven-a-side team, which went on to win a soccer tournament at Old Trafford.

The team received their medals from Sir Bobby Charlton.
