Subaru crash victim Leigh Sedgewick's grave desecrated by vandals

"After four years why have they done this? Someone has definitely set out to come here and do this.

"They’ve even gone to the trouble to chip his photo off and smash it up. He didn’t have any enemies that I knew of.

"It’s bad enough trying to live with the fact I’ve lost my son. It’s all I’ve got left of him."

Leigh’s brother Thomas Hill, 19, added: "Doing this is the lowest of the low. It’s been deliberately targeted."

Mr Sedgwick, known as ‘Sedgy’, died after he lost control of his Subaru Impreza at up to 97mph on 40mph Bradford Road near Asda supermarket.

Three of Mr Sedgwick’s passengers escaped with their lives but refused to give statements to police.

His friend Jason Allen was accused of racing former DJ Mr Sedgwick shortly before the crash.

A jury cleared Mr Allen, of Fartown, of causing death by dangerous driving but found him guilty of dangerous driving for which he received eight months in jail.
