Meet the finalists in Forget Me Not Factor
TALENTED local youngsters will perform in this year’s Forget Me Not Factor talent show.
The Galpharm Stadium show – based on Britain’s Got Talent and the X Factor – is organised by children’s charity the Forget Me Not Trust.
The charity helps with the care and support of children with life-limiting conditions in Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield.
Contestants from these areas have been whittled down to the final eight.
They will all be trying to impress judge Doreen France, a dance teacher with 40 years experience from Crosland Moor, and former Pennine FM presenter Will Smith.
Live band Helter Skelter will round off the evening’s events.
Four of the finalists are from the Kirklees area and the Examiner had the chance to speak to them all before the final on Saturday.
The other four finalists are from Calderdale and include Heather Kendrick, 10, from Shelf – who sang songs from the musical Annie in the auditions.
A brother and sister team called Folk on Fire, from Holywell Green.
Katie Higgins, 19, from Triangle, who translates songs with sign language.
And Diane Wales, from Mixenden, who is a classically trained opera singer.
All money raised will go towards the children’s charity.
To book tickets call 01484 487570. Quote FMN04 to receive a discounted adult’s ticket for £8 or a £5 child/OAP ticket.
Doors open at 6.15pm and the show starts at 7pm this Saturday.
