“I’ll break their legs if I ever find them.
“I can’t claim because I’ll lose my no-claims bonus so this will have to come out of my own pocket.
“It will cost a lot because it is water-based paint so I won't be able to get it done just anywhere. I reckon it will cost between £200 and £300 for each side.”
Another resident – who did not want to be named – was on her way to the shops when she realised her Ford Focus had been scratched.
She said: “I’m very annoyed. There have been things like this before but not for a few years.
“You just can't explain why someone would want to do something like this.
“I suspect drink was involved.”
The incident comes less than two weeks after thugs keyed three cars outside Newsome post office on Newsome Road.
Detective Constable Russ Conlon, of Kirklees CID, described the suspects as two white men dressed in white clothing.
He said: “We are appealing for information. If anyone has seen or heard anything, please get in touch.
“It is going to cost thousands of pounds to repair and cause a lot of inconvenience and insurance problems for people.”
People should call Inspector Adrian Waugh on 0845 6060606.
