SHINE: Deighton girl chosen as young ambassador for The Prince’s Trust

A TEENAGE mum has turned her life around.

Nicole Collins, of Deighton, has changed from a teenage dropout to a youth charity ambassador who really SHINES.

The 19-year-old has was chosen by national youth charity, The Prince’s Trust, to set a good example for other youngsters.

Nicole will now volunteer her time, speak to the local community, take part in debates and meet with local MPs in the hope of inspiring other young people.

Nicole left school without any GCSEs because she didn’t turn up for any of her exams.

At the time, she felt that she wouldn’t need them to get on in life.

A year on, she felt she had achieved nothing.

She had become depressed, was suffering from anxiety and found it hard to find a job.

She had cut herself off from all of her friends.

When she was 17, Nicole became pregnant with her son, Jamaal, who is now two.

For the first five months of his life, Nicole suffered from Post Natal Depression.
