Toddler Ruddi Waterworth-Jones fights rare cancer

LITTLE Ruddi Waterworth-Jones smiles on despite living with a rare cancer.

The tot is unaware of the heartbreak his family is experiencing after they were recently told Ruddi needs his bladder and prostate removing.

But despite all Ruddi is going through, his mother Ali Jones and dad Craig Waterworth are staying positive and are hopeful this weekend’s charity fundraiser will help raise money for children like Ruddi.

The 11-month-old toddler has rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the soft tissue.

But Ruddi, who got his first teeth last week, faces further surgery.

Ali said: “He needs two more lots of chemotherapy but we have been told he needs his bladder and prostate removing.

“I’m heartbroken but Ruddi just smiles on, he’s such a happy little boy and is always laughing.

“Our focus is always on him and my daughter Ellys but this weekend we want to raise as much money as we can.”

The day of fun is aiming to raise money for the Sick Children’s Trust, Candlelighters and Ward 10 at St James’s Hospital, Leeds.

It will take place this Sunday, July 12, at the YMCA, Laund Hill, in Salendine Nook and the fun starts at 11am and continues throughout the day until 11pm.

There will be rides, a charity football match, live music, limousine rides and a disco, among many more activities.

Ali added: “It’s all about the family. There is so much for the children to do and it’s all in support of these great causes.
