A WOMAN rescued an old oil painting dated 1883 which was destined for the tip.
Now Margaret Cummings, of Marsh, is wondering if anyone knows anything about the picture.
Margaret used to be the landlady of the Woodman Inn in Bradley when she was given the painting by the local vicar.
At the time the grandmother-of five, hung it up in the Leeds Road pub.
Margaret said: “The man in the picture is John Gibson and I was told his father had built the pub.
“So we hung it up in the pub on the chimney breast – it was a focal point.”
Margaret left the pub, but went back to visit after it was renovated.
She said: “When we went back to see the alterations I said, where’s the picture?
