Golcar magician Michael Jordan conjures up an award

MAGICIAN Michael Jordan has pulled an award out of the hat.

The Golcar teenager has been named the Magic Circle Young Magician of the Year.

For the 18-year-old, it means access to the country’s top magicians who he aspires to join.

Michael is currently a student at Huddersfield New College but hopes to work professionally as a magician in the future.

He said: “I’m thrilled about the award – it’s a great opportunity for me.

“I’ve been performing since I was 10 and love being in front of an audience.

“Everyone always asks how I do the tricks, but that’s the secret of magic, you’ve got to be able to keep a secret.”

Michael had to perform for 10 minutes and chose a medley of his favourite tricks.

They included a ‘walking knot’ where he cut a rope, tied it back together then later revealed it in one piece again.

While his finale was to fill the stage with snow, with only a small napkin as a prop.

He performed the routine in front of an audience and four judges.
