Thieves nick Casino Red boss’s bike days before Huddersfield Town charity ride

THE boss of Huddersfield Town’s former sponsors has had his bike stolen – just days before he is due to take part in an epic charity ride.

But Nick Boyes-Hunter, owner of Casino Red, said he would not let the setback scupper his bid to help the club’s Keep It Up campaign.

Mr Boyes-Hunter, 38, was on holiday with his family in Chicago, USA, when thieves raided his Cheshire home.

They took the bike he planned to use on the 232-mile trip from the Galpharm Stadium to Southend, starting next Wednesday.

He said: “We got back and found it had gone. I’ll replace it – I’ll either get a new one or borrow one. I’m still determined to do the ride.”

Mr Boyes-Hunter is one of 24 riders who will take part in the three-and-a-half day challenge.

The event is the brainchild of Town chairman Dean Hoyle and commercial director Sean Jarvis.

They pledged to ride to the first away fixture of the season – before they knew it was Southend United – for Keep It Up, which supports the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Huddersfield Town Academy.

The pair roped in Town legend Andy Booth and matchday announcer Paul Ramsden.
