Huddersfield mum in plea to missing girl, Alex Ward

A DISTRESSED mum has pleaded for her missing daughter to come home.

Alex Ward’s family are so concerned for her welfare they have already searched woods and canals and are handing out flyers calling for help.

The 16-year-old, of Trafalgar Close in Sheepridge, has not been seen since Wednesday night.

There are particular concerns about her because she suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

In a direct appeal to Alex, mum Josie said: “Everyone loves you, we miss you and we just want you to come home.”

Alex, who left Fartown High School this year and is planning to study childcare at Kirklees College in September, went to bed as normal at about 10pm on Wednesday.

About an hour later her sister Alicia, 17, told Josie she was not in her room.

Mum-of-six Josie, who is also a foster mum, said: “We’d had a bit of a tiff earlier but it wasn’t anything serious and we were laughing and joking later on.

“She went to bed and said, ‘Night, mum, see you in the morning.’
