Leeds beggar banned from Huddersfield Town Centre church

A MAN has been banned from a Huddersfield town centre church.
Raymond Warren, of Cross Green Lane, Leeds, has been given a temporary Asbo by Huddersfield Magistrates.
Warren, 49, is accused of drinking alcohol and begging in and around St Patrick’s RC Church at New North Road.
It is claimed he disturbed the congregation and had been seen defecating in the church grounds.
In total he is accused of eight incidents of anti-social-behaviour around the church, opposite Kirklees College.
Mr Warren, who had already reportedly breached an Asbo he was given in Leeds, was temporarily banned from the vicinity of the church by Huddersfield Magistrates.
His interim Asbo also bars him from begging and consuming alcohol in public anywhere in Kirklees until magistrates re-convene on September 8.
The hearing came only weeks after Huddersfield South Neighbourhood Policing Team launched a new ‘three strikes’ policy for beggars in the town centre.
People found begging are first given a verbal warning, followed by a letter before being arrested if they are caught a third time.
