Permit parking refused for Dalton street

COUNCILLORS have knocked back residents’ requests for permit parking outside their homes.

Kirklees Council’s Cabinet ruled out the move for Carr Green Lane in Dalton yesterday.

Seven residents signed a petition calling for permit parking.

But council officers recommended refusing the request as most homeowners at Carr Green Lane have off-street parking.

Kirklees leader Clr Mehboob Khan told his Cabinet colleagues that only a few residents had signed the petition.

He said: “There’s obviously no community support for this.”
