THOUSANDS of people have thrown their weight behind the desperate search for a missing teenager.
It is six days today since Alex Ward, 16, disappeared from her home at Trafalgar Close in Sheepridge.
About 3,000 flyers have been handed out across Kirklees and they have also been put in shop windows.
A group set up on social networking website Facebook called ‘Help find Alex’ already has more than 2,400 members.
Another website – www.missingalex.webeden.co.uk – has received hundreds of hits as family and friends do all they can to track her down.
Her mum, Josie, said: “We have done all we could think of. We don’t know what else to do.”
A host of messages of support have been posted on Facebook.
One said: “Dear Alex even if you’re scared about all the publicity don’t be.
“It just proves how much everyone wants you to get in touch.
“I don’t know you personally, but my daughter does and she’s really worried about you if you do get chance to read these messages just take your time to read some of them and you must know that you are truly loved.”
Another said: “I hope and pray to god in heaven that wherever you are you are being looked after and that you do come home safe and sound.”
