Stevie Cameron death party brawl seven in court

The offences relate to an incident at the party at Tintern Avenue, Milnsbridge, in the early hours of February 1.

The party moved to the house after an earlier party at a club in Paddock.

Stevie Cameron, 22, suffered fatal injuries at the 18th birthday party.

Many tributes to Mr Cameron have been posted on the Gone Too Soon website.

His death was a second tragedy for his family, as his half-brother Paul McKenzie died in a car crash three years ago.

No-one was charged with his death as the Crown Prosecution Service said a party-goer had used self-defence on Stevie.

Chief Crown Prosecutor for West Yorkshire Mr Neil Franklin said: “The decision about whether there should be a prosecution in relation to Mr Cameron’s death has been considered at length within the CPS, and, among others, I consulted the principal legal advisor for the CPS, Alison Levitt QC.

“In reaching this decision, we have considered all the evidence and taken into account the CPS guidance on self-defence and the prevention of crime, which says that ‘a witness to violent crime with a continuing threat of violence may well be justified in using extreme force to remove a threat of further violence.’

“The CPS has decided that, in this case, the householder was acting in self-defence when confronted with a group of violent intruders who were assaulting his guests.”

All the men charged will appear in court again on October 8.
