A YOUTH appeared in court yesterday in connection with the murder of a man.
The 17-year-old, who can’t be named for legal reasons, is charged with stabbing Simon Clark at Hare Park Avenue in Liversedge at the weekend.
The 38-year-old was rushed to Dewsbury and District Hospital with stab wounds at around 1am on Saturday.
He later died of his injuries.
The 17-year-old from Liversedge appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates Court on Monday.
The youth, who was wearing a black and grey Nike hooded top, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
He was not asked to enter a plea.
He was remanded in custody until tomorrow when he will appear at Dewsbury Youth Court.
The magistrates decided to impose a gagging order preventing the press from naming the 17-year-old.
