Strictly Come Dancing blog a success for Huddersfield woman

MILLIONS tuned in at the weekend to see this year’s controversial Strictly Come Dancing battle commence.

And thousands of them logged on to a website run by a Huddersfield woman.

Alex Dickinson, 26, is the brains behind the hugely successful website based on the hit BBC1 show.

The site – www.strictlycomedancing.tv – has already gathered a loyal following from Strictly fans and celebrities.

And Alex said demand for her website has been even hotter since this year’s show danced back onto our screens on Friday.

She said: “The response has been absolutely fantastic. Over the Friday and Saturday the website had over 12,000 hits, which for just two days is pretty good going!

“I’ve even been interviewed on BBC Radio Leeds, which I’m hoping will become a regular slot.”

Alex, communications director at digital design company Running in the Halls, based in Bates Mill, is obsessed with the show and set up her website two years ago to get blogging about it.

The response was overwhelming, with thousands logging on daily for the latest gossip and to post comments.

Alex says the hype surrounding the BBC’s controversial decision to replace veteran judge Arlene Phillips with singer Alesha Dixon has really helped boost hits.
