Dalton man Jamie Simpson’s ‘not guilty’ plea to threat to kill and kidnap case

A DALTON man has pleaded not guilty to four charges including kidnap and making a threat to kill.
Jamie Simpson, 22, of Walton Croft, appeared before Bradford Crown Court yesterday accused of six offences.
It is alleged that on July 5, he made threats to kill and that on July 31, he unlawfully and forcefully kidnapped a woman against her will.
He pleaded not guilty to both charges.
He is further charged with common assault relating to an alleged incident between January 15 and February 15 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on July 19 – which he also pleaded not guilty to.
The Dalton man did admit two offences, one of aggravated vehicle taking on February 19 in which he caused damage to a Vauxhall Astra car, and another offence of taking a different Astra without consent between July 27 and July 31.
The case against Simpson was fixed for a trial at Bradford Crown Court on November 23.
He was remanded in custody until that date.
