Sabira Alam murder trial: Accused's loving messages to Sabira

LOVING messages from a man accused of murdering his girlfriend reveal how close the couple once were.

Navid Naeem, who is accused of murdering Sabira Alam, sent her a Valentine’s Day card this year describing his feelings for her.

While Miss Alam, 20, of Vernon Avenue, Greenhead Park, also sent the defendant a card, telling him she loved him.

The content of the cards, as well as Facebook posts to each other, were read out as part of the case of the defence in the trial.

Naeem, of New Street, Milnsbridge, is accused of murdering Miss Alam, of Vernon Avenue, Greenhead. He denies the charge.

His defence barrister Bryan Cox QC read aloud messages the couple had sent to each other.

They reveal that the couple of had pet names, with Naeem calling Miss Alam Bambi and she called him Bumblebee.

Naeem looked to the ground and wiped his face with tissues as the content of the Valentine’s Day card he sent to Miss Alam was read in court.

The black card with a red love heart on it, read: "To my one and only dearest Sabira.

"Yes, it is true, you are the one I adore.

"Each and every moment with you is priceless and I feel blessed to have met someone so special. You brought sunshine into my life.
