Lucky the cat dumped outside Holm Veterinary Surgery in Honley
LUCKY by name lucky by nature.
This black and white moggy was dumped outside a vets in Honley.
Receptionist Jill Wiseman was opening up Holme Veterinary Centre when she spotted a box on the doorstep.
She said: “I saw this box and I had a look inside and all I could see was black fur but no animal.
“So I searched in the car park and all around the outside of the surgery.
“I was devastated because I couldn’t find anything.”
The staff found the black and white cat, thought to be about nine months old, a short time later on New Mill Road.
They thought it was lucky the cat hadn’t been hit by a car on the busy road after managing to escape from the box.
They thought it would be apt to call her Lucky.
Lucky is black and white and has a distinctive ring on the tip of her tail.
Practice manager Val Smith said she was hoping an Examiner reader might give Lucky a home.
The mother-of-one said: “She’s very friendly – she’s a dear little thing.”
