Colin Kilburn's ring found at Huddersfield waste transfer centre

WHEN Colin Kilburn lost a prized gold ring in the rubbish, he thought it was gone forever.

But he reckoned without the determination of staff at the Sita waste transfer plant in Huddersfield.

They were told about the lost signet ring and sifted through heaps of plastic to find it – much to Colin’s delight.

He said: “The speed with which all of the Sita staff reacted and found the ring was truly impressive – a big thank you to Sita UK.

“The ring is a family item that belonged to my father-in-law and, while not very valuable in money terms, it has loads of sentimental value and couldn’t be replaced.”

Colin, of Sowerby Bridge, lost the ring when he called in at the town’s recycling centre to dispose of a box full of plastic bottles. The ring slipped off his finger unnoticed and became lost in the container full of plastic.
