Huddersfield star Zoe Lucker out of Strictly Come Dancing

She had to balance being a mum, and seeing fiance Jim Herbert with the long demands of training sessions for the Strictly programmes.

Bastian who stubbed her toe earlier in the week, fought back tears during the dress rehearsal and limped off after performing before Fortuna carried her backstage.

Although the judges agreed that the wrong couples ended up in Saturday night’s dance-off, they had bickered earlier on.

A row broke out between Goodman and Revel Horwood following EastEnders actor Ricky Groves’ rumba.

Revel Horwood branded the James Bond themed routine "conceited", prompting Goodman to brand his criticism as "destructive".

"You are just destroying these people," he added.

Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle topped the judges’ scoreboard again this week with a near perfect score of 39 for his quickstep, the highest score of the series so far.

Revel Horwood was the only judge not to give him a perfect 10, saying the actor who plays Calvin Valentine in the Channel 4 soap opera had "bandy legs and pigeon toes".

Whittle and his partner Natalie Lowe received a standing ovation from the other competitors when they returned backstage.

Actor Craig Kelly, who turned 39 yesterday, was thrilled to make it through to next week’s show in Blackpool – his home town – despite coming joint bottom of the judges’ leader board.

Kelly, whose character Luke Strong fled Coronation Street earlier this month, got 24 points for his waltz, sharing the bottom spot with Groves.
