Manchester police shoot tyres of car to capture Huddersfield robbery suspects

ARMED police blew up the tyres of a car full of suspected robbers to carry out a dramatic arrest in Huddersfield town centre.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police had pursued the car from Manchester before closing in on Northumberland Street near St George’s Square, shortly before 8pm on Wednesday.
They blocked the car in and used a specialist gun to shoot at the tyres to bring the car to a stop.
As many as a dozen police then swooped on the vehicle and used CS gas to fill the car before dragging four men out.
The men, aged 22, 24, 25 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They were taken back to Greater Manchester for questioning where the offences are alleged to have happened.
The moment they sprang into action was seen by Elland woman Leanne Moss, 29.
She had just stepped off a train from Leeds that had been delayed for two hours after it hit and killed a teenager.
