FILM-MAKER Michael Pearson is recording the story of a futuristic house.
With its flat roof and timber and glass construction, Farnley Hey was state-of-the-art when it was built 50 years ago.
But it is more than keeping up with the times with latest gadgets meaning a computer even opens the curtains!
And now owner Joe Battye has commissioned a 40-minute film about his remarkable house outside Farnley Tyas – the first free-standing post-war home to win a Grade 2 listing.
Michael, a former BBC director, was filming at the futuristic Honley Road home yesterday.
“Joe wants to put on record the memories he has of living in the house and the changes he has made,’’ he said.
“We’ve been filming for three days and I think Joe will order about 100 copies of the film to give to relatives and people who’ve written about the house.
