Examiner Christmas Wish Campaign launch

IT’S been a tough year for many families, but dreams still can come true this Christmas thanks to our £15,000 pot of cash.

The Christmas Wish campaign, organised by Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table in partnership with the Examiner, aims to brighten the lives of people who have had a tough time or have worked hard supporting others during 2009.

This special person or group could be battling illness, struggling to cope with family or personal circumstances. They may be an unsung hero or heroine who devotes their lives to helping others.

They could also be a kind-hearted neighbour, caring grandparent or just a good friend.

We would like to make their Christmas Wish come true this year and generous members of Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table have set aside a £15,000 pot of cash to fund the project.

Last year Netherton couple Becky Ellis and her husband Stephen were treated to a special day out, thanks to the campaign.

The devoted couple give 24-hour care to their teenage son Daniel who has the genetic condition San Piere syndrome. They were nominated by vicar the Rev Ann Sykes.

Chairman Colin Thompson said: “Round Table members embrace life to the full while making a difference to our local community.

“Through the year our fundraising events include a collection with Santa at the Christmas lights switch on, the bonfire and fireworks display at Crosland Hill and the Duck Race in Holmfirth.

“We support many local good causes and organise and fund the annual Christmas Wish campaign to make wishes come true across the Huddersfield area.”

The rules are simple.
