Wet, wet, wet and more rain to come!
The Environment Agency has 80 flood watches and 37 flood warnings across the north west, east and North Wales. One severe warning is for the Lancashire area.
In Kirklees there are currently no road closures although water was being pumped from the Unna Way underpass which has only recently undergone road works.
Localised flooding was also a problem in several areas including Berry Brow, Almondbury and Thongsbridge.
Police reported calls from people living in Brook Lane, Golcar, Shelley, Skelmanthorpe, Blackmoorfoot Road at Crosland Moor and Fenay Bridge with concerns about flooded roads.
Meanwhile, national forecasters say parts of Britain will be battered by gale force winds and heavy rain over the next few days.
The Met Office has put out warnings for downpours and gusts of wind of up to 60mph for Wales, the north west of England and Northern Ireland for today and Friday.
The outlook is similar for Saturday when the warnings of bad weather extend down to South West England.
The gale-force storms prompted almost 5,000 calls to the Environment Agency’s helpline.
Workers countrywide were carrying out routine inspections of waterways, clearing drains of debris and checking flood defences.
