Sellers International Youth Band raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind
YOUNG musicians have raised thousands of pounds for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Sellers Engineers of Chapel Hill, Huddersfield, presented the charity with a cheque for £3,140.
Most of the money was raised by a charity concert by Sellers International Youth Band.
The 36-strong brass band regularly raises money for good causes. David Armitage, of Sellers, said: “The kids have been fantastic, the band is a brilliant vehicle to raise funds.”
The band, whose members are aged between eight and 19, held the concert at St Paul’s Hall in June, raising £2,040. Sellers donated a further £1,100 to the good cause.
Mr Armitage said: “We have an affinity to the Guide Dogs for the Blind, it’s one of those charities that gets no help from the Government.”
The band will continue their good work with a concert for Help for Heroes at St Paul’s Hall on December 13. For tickets costing £6 call Ann Kilburn on 01484 540 006.
