UP to six people were stabbed – two of them seriously – in a nightclub brawl just hours into the New Year.
The victims were rushed to hospital following the fight at Mansion on Beast Market, Huddersfield, around 2am yesterday.
Police said two of the victims are in a “serious but stable” condition at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Several other people are believed to have been stabbed in the incident, but all of them had left hospital by 10.30am yesterday.
Police said “up to half a dozen” people may have been stabbed during the brawl, which began in Mansion before spilling out on to Beast Market.
On New Year’s Day a large area around of the town centre remained cordoned off as police and forensic experts continued their inquiries.
Police had taped off Beast Market, part of Southgate opposite Huddersfield Sports Centre and the bottom part of St Peter’s Street.
There was a second cordoned off area at Brook Street near the Media Centre – 300 yards from the club.
