FUNDRAISERS at Huddersfield’s Kirkwood Hospice have appealed for unwanted Christmas presents.
The charity is now planning for its 2010 fundraising events – and is in desperate need of donations for raffle prizes.
Hospice fundraiser Kate Leadbeater said: “We will be organising our spring fair, an It’s a Knockout competition, a golf day and our Midnight Memory Walk in the coming months – but at this stage the cupboard is bare!”
She said: “While people are snowed in at home, we would urge them to do some early spring cleaning and look out their unwanted Christmas presents.
“Everyone gets a gift that they don’t really want, but one person’s rubbish is another person’s treasure.”
Kate said people could drop off donations such as fragrances, soaps and chocolates at the Dalton hospice. People with a large number of items can ring 01484 557911 to arrange for them to be collected.
