THE judge in the trial of two men accused of being involved in a brutal attack on a 54-year-old man outside a Huddersfield pub is due to begin her summing up of the evidence later today.
Barristers for the prosecution and defence completed their closing speeches yesterday in the case of the attack at Ricky’s Bar at Bradley Mills.
Daniel Mullins, 24, of St James Way, Rawthorpe, Huddersfield, and his co-accused 23-year-old Gareth Garside, of Langdale Drive, Dalton, Huddersfield, have both denied causing Anthony Schofield grievous bodily harm with intent during the violence outside the Leeds Road pub last July.
Mullins told the jury at Bradford Crown Court last week that he was amazed to see his friends Daniel Lockwood and Jamie Wood frogmarching a man out of the pub.
Mullins denied being aware of any plan to attack Mr Schofield outside and he told the jury that he tried to stop 22-year-old Lockwood “braying” the victim.
