Six Huddersfield Giants players arrested in Newcastle after rape allegation

SIX Huddersfield Giants players have been arrested in Newcastle on suspicion of rape.

The players were being questioned yesterday evening following the rape allegation, early on Tuesday.

All six have been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

The team had been staying at the Gosforth Marriott Hotel, Newcastle after arriving on Monday for a team-building exercise and training on a nearby artificial pitch at Gosforth Park racecourse.

Their coach was still parked outside the hotel this morning (pictured).
