Huddersfield student Grace Sherriff designs Giants shirt

THE Giants go into Super League battle tomorrow for the first time in 2010.

And coach Nathan Brown and his team have been given a little bit of a helping hand – from a 22-year-old University of Huddersfield student.

Not that Grace Sherriff is an expert on the finer arts of rugby league or the fitness of the players.

She will be making sure they look smart when they run out on the Galpharm Stadium pitch – having won a contest to design their training shirts.

The team wear the shirts in their pre-match warm-up sessions.

Grace, a student on the Fashion Design with Manufacturing, Marketing and Promotion course, will be at the game against Bradford Bulls to see the shirts make their first appearance.

Thanks to the close ties between the Giants and the university, which sponsors the club, all fashion students were invited to take part in a competition to design a brand new training shirt for the new season.
