Huddersfield student Grace Sherriff designs Giants shirt

Grace said: “I was inspired by the architecture of the Galpharm Stadium, home to the Giants, and took the idea of the big arches and transferred them on to the shirt, which worked really well.
“I was surprised to win, just because it’s strange sitting in the studio with everyone else’s designs all around you – you just never expect yours is going to be the one chosen!”
Grace’s shirt is already available to buy in the club stores, and fans will see it first hand in the Giants’ first game of the season, when they go head to head with Bradford Bulls at 8pm tomorrow.
Grace was brought up in the rugby heartland of Wigan but admits she’s not a big fan of the sport.
She is currently on a placement with Manchester design company Jo-Y-Jo, and will return to the university in September to complete her final year.
During her studies at Huddersfield she has also made it to the finals of a national design competition.
