Doors to open on faith trail

RELIGIOUS buildings will be opening their doors to Huddersfield visitors tomorrow.
The Faith Trail invites people to look around various places of worship in the town.
The Parish Church on Byram Street, Methodist Mission on Lord Street, Jamia Usman Mosque on Upper George Street, Guru Nanak Gurdwara on Prospect Street and St Patrick’s RC Church on New North Road will be welcoming in visitors.
It comes following the success of the Treasures Revealed in Kirklees project which saw 40 places of worship opening their doors last May.
David Thompson, project development officer, said: “It showed that different faiths can work together to break down some of the myths and misconceptions about faith communities.
“It is extremely important that ordinary people have the chance to ask the faith communities to explain their beliefs first hand, instead of relying on opinions and half-truths.”
