A FLUTTER could win you a free meal at a Huddersfield pub.

Landlords are coming up with canny ways to entice customers back inside as more and more face the grim prospect of closure.

But The Albert in Huddersfield town centre has come up with the idea of a Gambler’s Lunch – and you don’t have to be an avid gambler to win.

Just rolling two dice gives diners the chance to fill their stomachs without emptying their pockets.

Licensee Gareth Riley came up with the innovative idea after taking over the Victoria Lane pub in December.

“People love it because it gives a little extra twist to lunch,” he said.

When customers order a main meal at the Albert they are given two dice to roll.

Gareth, 25, explained: “If you roll two sixes your order is free.

“If you get seven we give you a free starter and any score from eight to 11 gets you 50% off your next meal.

“It’s a quirky offer which the regulars like.
