MP Mike Wood hosts womens’ celebrations

MP Mike Wood is hosting an event to celebrate International Women’s Day next month in Batley and Spen.

The event features a number of inspiring speakers from a variety of backgrounds – both locally and nationally – who will be sharing their experiences throughout the day.

The event will also feature art displays from a range of local artist and stands from organisations who work on women’s issues, such as domestic violence, equal rights and community support.

Mr Wood said: “I think it is important to remember the achievements of women over the years yet also the challenges we still face as a society and I hope the day reflects that.”

The event will be held at Batley Town Hall on March 10 from 10.30am – 3.30pm. The day is free for all to attend.
