82 arrested and cars, cash, guns and drugs seized in Kirklees Operation Greystoke

A total of 166 suspects have been arrested.
There have been problems with outdated intelligence in certain cases.
Last week police involved in the operation smashed down doors at two properties occupied by innocent members of the public.
Naomi Tikva’s house on Sycamore Avenue in Golcar was targeted by officers looking for a suspect who had moved out two years ago.
Julie Haigh’s home on Beadon Avenue, Waterloo, was raided – seven years after the suspect had left.
But Det Ch Insp Benson hailed the operation a success.
He said: “This has been a hugely successful operation and is already having a beneficial affect on crime levels over the past two weeks, particularly around house burglary, which has fallen.
“The people of Kirklees can be confident that the pursuit of criminals gaining benefit from acquisitive and drug crime will be relentless”.
