Honley parking and speed limit changes frozen until row is sorted out

“We made a mistake in not inviting the business association to the area forum where we were discussing the alterations, and I’m sorry for that.

“It will mean some tweaking of the plans but we’ll get it sorted.”

Mr Christofi, president of the HVBA, said: “I don’t think we can do anything about the double yellow lines, they are there now.

“But there must be car parking – if there is nowhere to park where can customers park when they come to shop in the village?

“If they start penalising people it will drive them away and they won’t come back to Honley.

“The shopkeepers have put a lot into Honley, we are all trying to keep small businesses here and it’s bad enough with the recession without this too.

“We need to find a solution to this and I’m working with the council and hope we can come up with something.”

It is not known how long the freeze on enforcement will continue, but Clr Rogers has asked anyone with concerns to contact him.
